Long Night of Science
The Long Night of Science is an amazing outreach event to engage the public with current scientific topics. Hosted by the Free University of Berlin and a few other research institutions, it gives researchers the opportunity to share their science through open lectures, guided tours and interactive experiments – all balled up into a neat little program between 5pm and 12am.
In collaboration with the research group of Prof. Dr. Jeschke, we have set up a booth to educate about invasive alien species (IAS) issues for the past three years. In fact, outreach and education are the most effective ways to combat the spread of IAS. The more people are made aware of which species to look out for and how they are spread, the less likely they will be spread to new ecosystems.
